My name is Emre Çilkaya. I had my bachelor’s degree at Istanbul Technical University on naval architecture and ocean engineering. Afterwards, I studied a double degree master programme on advanced ship design & mechanical engineering at University of Liege, in Belgium, and hydrodynamics for ocean engineerng at Ecole Centrale de Nantes, in France. As the final part of my master’s, I performed my master’s thesis and internship at the Arctic Department of Hamburg Ship Model Basin, in Germany, on the discrete element simulation of ship in brash ice.
